Our House and Team discuss the factors contributing to addiction among young people, such as peer pressure, trauma, genetic predisposition, and environmental influences.
We help the youth recognize signs and symptoms of addiction, including behavioural changes, social withdrawal, decline in academic performance, and changes in physical appearance.
Most of all, we show them the importance of early detection and intervention.
With them, we Discuss the significance of a supportive network, including family, friends, mentors, and professional counsellors. We call upon Missionaries of Africa specialised in counselling and accompanying young people to help those they can reach through open communication and non-judgmental support in helping young people seek help.
We Explore various treatment approaches, such as therapy, support groups, medication-assisted treatment, and holistic therapies.
We Address the importance of personalized treatment plans tailored to the individual needs of young people.
Most importnantly, we Offer practical tips for preventing addiction among youth, including education about substance abuse, healthy coping mechanisms, and positive peer influence.
We advocate for the implementation of preventive programs in schools and communities as the most effective way to help young addicted, we also discuss the stigma associated with addiction and its impact on young people seeking help and encourage a shift in societal attitudes toward addiction, promoting empathy, understanding, and support for those struggling.
